Is it a better idea to buy new or used when looking for a car?

People may argue with me but I would say the Used Car is almost always a better bargain considering the new car looses anywhere from 15% – 30% of its value by simply driving off the new car lot.

Many people take excellent care of their cars and lease them for as little as two years. At the end of the two years you have a like new vehicle for 25% – 40% less than it would have cost to buy new.

If you absolutely must be seen driving the latest and greatest and don’t mind paying extra for it go ahead and waste your money but if you’d like to pay off your house quicker or send some kids to college and you don’t work as an AIG executive the smart move is to buy USED.

Ithaca Michigan Pontiac Display

The Annual Ithaca Michigan Car Show was held this week.

On display were classic  models from all of the big three automakers with a nice selection of Pontiac, Buick, Cadillac, Chevy and Ford.  Having been born in 1970 my favorites are always the late 60′s and early 70′s muscle cars but plenty of classics from the 40′s and 50′s were on hand as well.   The weather was perfect. Not too hot not too cold and not a rain cloud in site.  Over 300 vehicles were on display with participants driving from as far as Salem Oregon.
Shaheen Ithaca Michigan Buick graciously provided awards for
Best of Show and Viewers Choice trophies for 7 Classes.
